Ameyoko
"Ameyoko" is a short form for "Ameya-Yokocho" which means "candy store alleys." Alternatively, "Ame" can be understood as meaning 'American' because many American products were available there just after World War Two.This busy market street, which started off as a black market after the Second World is also famous for its discounted goods as dashing sales folk constantly call out to passers by as trains hurtle by on the overhead railroad lines.
