- JMB members may not combine their mileage in order to receive awards.
Mileage accumulated in other companies' mileage programs cannot be combined with JMB mileage in order to receive awards.
- Awards issued for children and infants require the same mileage as those issued for adults.
Infants may possess either (1) a mileage award ticket, or (2) an infant-fare ticket based on the same class of service as that which is to be utilized by the adults traveling with the infant, or (3) an infant-fare ticket based on a lower class of service pluse an upgrade certificate. Infants traveling on mileage award tickets will occupy their own seat. Infants traveling on infant-fare tickets will not occupy their own seat.
- Award applications must be made by the member
Even if the award is not used by the member, he/she must make the application. However, if the member wishes, he/she can appoint another person(s) and register them as his/her proxy in advance and the proxy can then make applications on the member's behalf.
- Taxes and fees.
Miscellaneous taxes and charges, such as airport taxes, airport facility charges, insurance surcharges or fuel surcharges necessary for international award tickets and JAL Group Upgrade Awards are the responsibility of the member or the traveler.

- Mileage refunds.
Once redeemed, mileage cannot be refunded to your account or used in exchange for a different award even if the award is completely unused. Deducted mileage from member's account can only be refunded by useing the "Mileage Reinstatement Service for Unsed Awards".
- Check your mileage balance.
Please make sure that you have the required number of miles at the time you request an ward. You can not request an award if you do not have the required mileage.
- Your reservation must be confirmed.
Award tickets, upgrade awards, hotel awards and Eurostar ticket awards require confirmed reservation. The award will not be issued until your reservation has been confirmed. Once the reservation is confirmed, the award application will be completed by deducting the necessary miles from your JMB account and issuing the award.
Waitlists are not allowed for Japan domestic flight sectors of JAL Group Airlines and JMB partner airlines' flight sectors.
